My Baby's a Chunker

So my baby girl "Selah" had her two month check up yesterday and got some pretty funny results. She weighs 11.6 pounds and is 23.5 inches long. The doctor told us that she is in the top 10% for height and the top 25% for weight. We could have a volleyball star on our hands folks. The bottom line is that my baby is gorgeous and extremely healthy, thanks to the grace of God.

Parenting

So I have been totally blown away by this whole Dad experience. Everything I have experienced has blown my Idea of parenting out the window. Watching your own baby come out of the womb is one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had, there is just no words to describe it. Trying to get sleep at night while your baby cries is almost impossible. There is something about it when your own baby cries that drives you crazy. I want to fix whatever is wrong so bad I nearly go insane trying. Every-time she gets hiccups I want to grab her and burp her cause I feel like they scare her. There is no love like the love of your own child. God is amazing and has truly blessed me and my family.

New Warrior..

So yes it is true me and D'ann did add a little warrior to the kingdom this weekend. Selah Jay Lorentzen was born Jan 18th, 2008 at Geneses East. She weighed 9.2 pounds and was 20 inches long. She is perfect in every way. God has truly blessed me and my wife and my little girl. I have looked up her name several times and found a few different meanings. In the dictionary it means an exclamation in psalms and habakkuk. I've also read that it means a pause or interlude. It doesn't really matter at this point to me it means the most beautiful girl in the world. Thanks to everyone of my friends and family who prayed for me and D'ann through this whole deal. We had the most blessed pregnancy and labor any couple could ask for, by the grace of God and his son.
