Things

So things are happening right now at The Rock church in the body and in the staff and in my personal responsibilities. For the last 2 years I have been working in the Kids Ministry at Rock Church and I have finally come to a place where it basically can run itself with a little overseeing. The final straw was getting new curriculum but the people to operate the curriculum are in place and are awesome. I have personally took it upon myself and help the Pastor (my father) with some responsibility in the church. I decided what Senior Pastor doesn't have a side kick? I am also helping Pastor Justin with whatever he needs to happen. I am pretty pumped about this new responsibility. I have a huge passion for seeing our church grow. Number=Souls That is what were about. If your reading this please take a sec and give Rock Church a prayer.

Change..

So this morning I spent all morning reading and taking notes from a book that I believe is going to help in some areas of our church. I was also super encouraged when I read Pastor Justin's blog about how he can feel the "the winds blowing". I can feel the same thing. I can sense that something good is going to start happening at our church. Change is going to take place that is going to help reach the thousands of souls we are called to reach at Rock Church. I can't wait to see what God is going to do.

Saddleback Conference...

So the Rock Church staff was a little disappointed when we weren't able to go to Drive Conference, but luckily we have gotten a little taste from the spur of the moment conference at Saddleback. Rick Warren just killed the first session. I think I got more out of that 1.5 hours on ministry than I have listening to anything else in a long time. He is a bad man. Check it out...

Small Group Party...

This weekend was another extremely busy weekend as usual. My day off consisted of laying tile for a friend and having a small group party for our Kingdom Youth Church ministry. The party was a huge success. We started out going to buffalo wild wings and eating. I made it a point not to make it very ministry specific but just make it fun and relational. I think the kids got a lot closer and realized you can have a good time w/out drinking and talking about women. Not to mention I got a call from a parent who was basically in tears over what small groups had done for her child. I love ministry!!! Their is no other job for me. Lord Willing.......

Wednesday Night

So every Wednesday night for those of you who don't know I serve in a
kick arse youth monistry called Kingdom Youth Church. I play bass on
the worship band as well as serve in the creative behind the scene
stuff. This week is pretty exciting because we broke another
attendance record of 174 teenagers. Its amazing what God is doing.
These are not your typical rowdy teenagers. These teenagers bring
their bibles, serve in the church, are involved in small groups and
are making a mark on their high schools. I know that God has so much
more then anything we've seen. I ask all that when you read this you
say a prayer for this ministry and the leaders that are involved. I
believe this ministry has a chance to start a revival. Souls Souls
Souls.

Ghost Hunting

So to conclude my mini series on Ghost Hunting. I can officially tell
you that I do not believe In Ghosts. Evil spirits yes simply because
the bible says they are real. Last night while it was fun and an
experience I'm glad I can say I've had, was a complete waste of my
life. I'm a believer on paranormal but as far as peoples spirits being
trapped here or something. Doubt it! We got some hood footage for
church so it should be pretty funny.

Ghost Hunting

We just finished second session. Didnt get much activity buy we have
"power words" next! Its where someone says certain words into the
walky and we sit and wait for activity. Words like murder, death,
rape, biaaa, Beelzebub, devil, Justin Manheart. Crazy stuff like that.

Ghost hunt

So this is what I've been looking at for the last hour waiting for
something to break the plane of this lazer. Something will I can feel
it.

Ghost hunting

So tonight me Austin Justin are ghost hunting with some real ghost
hunters. So far we have found a dead bat and the equipment isn't
working probably. Creepy......

Operation Renovation

So finally were starting something on operation renovation that I
think will excite the people. We have spent tons of money on heat and
maintenance and now were getting to the good stuff. Today we had about
20 guys serving the lord and knocked out a whole bunch of work.

Is it happening...

So Rock Church is in a place that it has never been before. God is radically changing peoples lives every week and the atmosphere is contagious. My life as a christian has always been full of confusion. I always loved Jesus and his church but it seemed like something was missing. It seemed that there was still an unanswered question. I believe that our church and this generation has found it. It's Jesus!!! Thats right Jesus!!! His grace covers all sins forever. Yesterday, today, and forever. I believe that our church is going to experience radical growth and revival and it's already starting. KYC had 160 kids in service tonight. To have a church that is based on loving Christ and learning God's word bring in 160 kids is unheard of. Get ready people, It's happening!!!!!!

Kids Rock

So I think I am finally beginning to get a solid clear vision for what the Kids Ministry at Rock Church is going to be. Right now we are riding a pretty big wave in Kids Rock. We have a lot of momentum and things are starting to really take off. We had 15 new kids in service this week. I think that is more than we have ever had since I took over. We started our first fundraiser for the remodeling of our room. Our volunteer and leadership team is really growing and getting stronger by the week. Volunteers are getting easier to find. It's funny how many people want to jump on board after the ministry is starting to explode. "People I needed you last year". I know it's my fault. The most amazing thing though is how God is putting a passion in my heart for kids. Im not sure if this is what God has called me to for the rest of my life but for now I know it's what he wants. I am learning so much every week and I wouldn't do anything else no matter what the pay. "Thats the truth" For all you reading this blog continue to pray for me and these children. I really believe that God is going to do something that no other children's ministry has done before.

Sunday Lunches

Gotta love Sunday Lunches. It has became a church family tradition.
Its like if I don't go out on Sunday then something is off in my
chemical makeup! Some traditions are awesome and some suck! This one I
think I will keep...

One of those days...

Kids Rock service was anything but a win yesterday.
The kids were supposed to have a movie and a pizza party for meeting their offering goals. Well here is how it went down.
9 a.m.-Set up Dell projector in kids room. Frustrated cause it's the crappiest one in the church
9:30a.m.-Find 2 volunteers to be in the Kids Room while I play bass in worship
10:oo a.m. -Eat get a coffee chill before service
10:30 a.m.-Worship starts I figure out no one is in the Kid's Rock room that knows how to start the movie
10:40a.m.-a Kid with not very much money paid $110 dollars for the pizza
10:50a.m.-No one is in little Rocks room, parents are angry, I'm running around the church finding little rocks leader
11:00 a.m.-I enter Kids Rock room with kids going crazy cause they can't see the screen projected from the crappy projector
11:15 a.m.-Kid's ran out of cups and plates and no one else knows where they are
11:20 a.m.-Decide to get on a ladder and move the projector closer
11:23a.m.-Screen is funky shape have to hunt Austin down to fix it
11:27 a.m.-They still can't see it "about to lose it"
11:30 a.m.-Put the movie on the t.v. instead
11:45 a.m.-Sit there watching the movie trying not to freak out on staff member
11:50a.m.-Kid trips on projector chord can't see movie
11:55 a.m.-Girl spills pop all over under the chairs
12:00 p.m-Kid's wont stop talking
12:15p.m.-Parents walk into a room with chairs everywhere, pizza everywhere, pop everywhere wondering what it was that their children learned about Jesus today.

CHURCH CHURCH...

So the church is definitely on a spiritual high. We are growing in attendance pretty rapidly and there is a lot of excitement. Kingdom Youth has went back old school and is on fire. Kid's Rock has a new leadership and volunteer team and is starting to experience the fruits of it. Our praise and worship is beginning to be more consistent with musicians as well as the anointing. Three out of the four last sermons from the senior pastor (my dad) have been fire. We are getting new family's visiting every week that hear about the energy from our church. I don't know about you guys but to me that sounds like God is doing and about to do something huge in the quad cities. I can't wait for the day that people are saying "man can you believe what that crazy church in Davenport, Ia is doing". God use us, break us, mold us, make us. -I'm very clever!

Holy Ghost..

So last night God amazed me again. Our youth ministry of about 150 had a "speaking in tongues" service and it was off the charts. To my knowledge this hasn't even been done before with that many people, besides the church of god summer camps. I run a small group and my kids were all filled with the holy spirit and were texting me telling me how awesome it was and how they had never felt like this before. I totally remember that feeling!

Somebody Get on Board...
Lets change lives before they become old, stubborn and unmoldable.
